A little peep at Baby K #2

We went to the Dr. for our 20 week ultrasound on November 13th. The baby was a little hard to get to do what the tech needed for all her measurements so we were in there a little longer and she had to keep moving my stomach to get the baby to move. It didn't want to cooperate very well. We don't find out the gender. We like waiting until the end. She said it was a good thing we didn't want to know because we probably wouldn't have been able to tell because it wouldn't cooperate. We got pictures but we couldn't get a good profile picture. The baby is looking at us. It was very active while we were in there. It kept putting it's legs up around it's head and it would lay it's arms on it's head as well. I am a little scared this baby is going to be very active. I was very active as a baby and child that it truely scares me. I was bad.

October went by so fast!

Our pumpkin that we carved!

My cute Fireman!

Bricen and Chloe at the Apple Orchard picking out their pumpkins

Bricen and I at Disney on Ice

Bricen playing soccer.

Wow how the time passes us right by. We have had a very busy month. I kept waiting to have a slow week but it never happened and looking ahead I don't think things will slow down until after the first of the year.
We went to Windy Hill Apple Orchard for Bricen's field trip. The kids got to hear a story about Johnny Appleseed, take a hayride, make a scarecrow, pick out a pumpkin, pick out some apples and eat a snack. We went to lunch with April and Chloe afterwards.
I had my 10 year class reunion on October 11th. There was a couple of us that planned for months and boy was that so more job. It was a great idea until the week of. We went to the home football game on Friday night. Then I was at the Larne building we were having the class reunion at 6:45 AM on Saturday morning to decorate. We left there to go to Courtney's at 11:15 for lunch with those that wanted everyone to meet their families. Then we had to go get balloons blown up and finish decorating. I got home at 5 PM to take a shower and I headed back up to the Larne building at 6:00. We had a babysitter. The first time ever. My mom had her class reunion and Albert's mom was out of town. Albert meet me at the Larne building at 7:00. We had a great time. It's hard to believe all that planning and it was gone like the blink of your eyes. I got home at 2:00 AM and I was wore out.
My 28th birthday was October 12th. Needless to say I was a little wore out on my birthday. We went to church and then to my mom and dad's for lunch. April took me to the Long Horn for dinner. Albert had deacon training and they didn't want me to be at home on my birthday.
We had the 4th annual kids halloween party. All the kids are getting so big. I hope to get my scrapbook done of the past 4 years so next year I will have it so everyone can see how much the kids have changed over the years. The kids seemed to have a great time.
We went to Derrick and April's after the kid's party to carve pumpkins and eat chili. We had a great time. I can't tell you the last time I carved a pumpkin.
Bricen had soccer games every Saturday. He had a great time. It was fun seeing him play his first sport.
Bricen also had a bad cold for a couple of weeks and we ended up having to take him to the Dr. because his neck was swollen. The Dr. said he thought it was a bacteria infection possibly from when he had step back in September that was still in his system or a sinus infection from the cold. He is feeling so much better and he is eating so much better as well. It's like the antibotic has given him an appetite.
Bricen had a carnival and trick or treating at his school and he had a ball.
We went to some friends house and had a hayride trick or treating around their neighborhood. That was the most trick or treating Bricen had ever done. They had the best neighborhood to trick or treat and the kids had a great time. We don't need candy until next year. Yes, I am serious. Hope everyone is enjoying fall as much as we are.

Pumpkin Bread Recipe

I love pumpkin bread so I thought I would share this recipe.
Can ya'll tell I love Fall?

Pumpkin Bread Recipe

This recipe makes 3- 9x5 inch loaves

INGREDIENTS
3 cups canned pumpkin puree
1 1/2 cups vegetable oil
4 cups white sugar
6 eggs
4 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 1/2 teaspoons ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoons ground cloves

DIRECTIONS
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour three 9x5 inch loaf pans.
In a large bowl, mix together the pumpkin, oil, sugar, and eggs. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves; stir into the pumpkin mixture until well blended. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.
Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes to 1 hour. The top of the loaf should spring back when lightly pressed.

Pumpkin Finger Play

I got a piece of paper that the teachers handed out yesterday at Bricen's preschool. It was suggestions for fine motor skills. Finger plays was on that suggested list. So I thought I would look and see what finger plays I could find that would have something do with the time of year. Five Little Pumpkins was a finger play Bricen learned last year in the two year old class and he loved it. So I am going to kick it up a notch and let him draw and cut out little pumpkins from orange construction paper then help him draw faces on the pumpkins. Then we will glue the pumpkins to popsicle sticks and use them for this finger play. So I thought I would share this cute little idea.

Five Little Pumpkins

Five little pumpkins were sitting on a gate.
The first one said, "It's getting mighty late."
The second one said, "There are witches in the air."
The third one said, "I really don't care."
The fourth one said, "Let's run, run, run."
The fifth one said, "It's Halloween fun!"
"Whooo" went the wind, and out went the light,
And the five little pumpkins rolled out of sight.

Here is another finger play you can use with the popsicle sticks.

Five Little Pumpkins

5 little pumpkins at my door
A neighbor came and took one then there were 4
4 little pumpkins under a tree
Along came a farmer and then there were 3
3 little pumkins looked so new
I gave one away then there were 2
2 little pumpkins laying in the sun
Grandma made a pie now there is just one
I then made a jack-o-lantern, wasn't that fun?

Here is a cute website with crafts and activities.

I love this weather!

You sure can tell that fall is in the air. We have had some great weather this week. I wish it could be this way year round. Low humidity with sunshine and that cool breeze. Fall is one of my favorite seasons. I am so excited that I can now put out my fall decorations. Since Albert has lost so much weight we have some extra clothes and Bricen and I are going to make a scarecrow. So that should be a lot of fun. Happy Fall Ya'll!

A little catching up!

We have been busy. We have been enjoying Friday night football. Albert and I went to Georgia last weekend four-wheeling and we had some friends that came on Saturday to ride with us. We had a great time and Albert and I were both down that we left Bricen at home so we packed up and came home Saturday night. We picked him up from his Papa and Nona's on Sunday morning. It was nice for Albert and I to have a little time away. Albert took me to my favorite resturant California Dreaming on Friday night on our way to Georgia. Albert bought a back seat for the Rhino for Bricen to ride and it has a harness seatbelt just like his carseat but I just wasn't ready for him to go start riding the trails. I guess he is old enough since he will be buckled up and wearing a helmet and the trails are not bad.
Bricen has been playing soccer. He has a great time running around. Not so sure he knows exactly what is going on but it's never to young to learn. I will post some pictures of him in his uniform. They are all so cute.
Bricen had his first experience this weekend with strep throat. He started not feeling well on Saturday and he was complaining with is throat hurting and since my nephew had strep on Thursday and they had been together on Wednesday I decided to go on and take him to the Dr. I went to the Minute Clinic at CVS and it was great. We were in and out with medicine in our hands in 25 minute. He is doing much better and we are praying no one else gets sick.
I have had several Dr.appointments since I last blogged and everything is going great. I was 13 weeks this past weekend. It sure is flying by. My blood pressure is great and I am praying it stays that way. With Bricen it was already high and I was already taking medicine. I go Wednesday for an ultrasound so that will be exciting! Dr. Peach promised me last Wednesday that he would not let me go over March 29th!!! I was tickled with that news. Bricen's birthday is April 2 and I would love NOT to have them on the same day. Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying this cooler weather as much as we are. Take care!

Bricen's first day of 3 year old preschool!

Bricen's first day of 3 year old preschool! He was excited other than the fact he was going to have new teachers. He didn't understand why he couldn't have his old teachers. It's so hard to believe how fast they grow. It just seems like he was starting the 2 year old class last year.

Baby Update

I went to the Dr. Monday for my confirmation to know I am for sure pregnant. The nurse came in and she said you are for sure pregnant. I laughed and told Albert I am glad we know for sure four pregnancy test later that have all said positive.
I pulled something in my back on Sunday and was feeling a little bit of pulling in my left side so they did an ultrasound just to make sure everything was ok. It was and we got to see the baby and hear it's heartbeat. That is so amazing at 6 weeks you can see that little raisin and hear it's heartbeat. That was a sigh of relieve just to know everything looks great.
They gave me a due date of March 29th. I go back to the Dr. on the 18th for my work up. So that will be my first real appointment.
I have been a little tired and I have been trying to rest in the afternoons to help with that. I do not remember being as tired with Bricen as I am with this one. I guess taking care of a three year old is the difference the second go round.
Bricen is excited! He was so cute Monday. He came in the bathroom while I was in the shower. He said, "Mommy, you got to go to the Dr.?" I said "yes." He said, "Are they going to check your baby?" I said, "yes." I thought that was so cute!

We're going to be a family of four!

I am pregnant! I was a bit surprised on July 21st when I found out I was pregnant. I knew just about all day and wasn't going to tell Albert for a couple of days. Although my husband is pretty observant. So he asked me that Monday night if I was pregnant and I blew it off and it made me get all nervous so I decided to tell him. I had taken a picture of Bricen in a shirt that said I am the big brother so I walked back to my room and got that picture and the pregnancy test. I took it out in the den and handed it to him. It felt like someone had lifted a ton of bricks off of my shoulders. It felt so good to be able to tell someone. We were very surprised. We wanted to wait and tell our parents together and the first time we could get them together was tonight. We had our parents over for dinner and I went back to the bedroom and changed Bricen's shirt and he got to come and out and show it off. He had no clue what was going on. We had not told him. We knew he would tell. Everyone was shocked. I go to the Dr. on Monday but with calculations I am due March 28th. 5 days before Bricen's birthday. We are so excited! Albert's face was worth a million. He was smiling from ear to ear. I will keep you posted!

A few funny things about Bricen

We were on our way to the beach and Bricen was talking about Chickens and he told Albert and I, eggs come from chickens. So I said,"well what comes out of cows" and he answered poop. That wasn't what I was looking for but he wasn't wrong either. He never cracked a smile but Albert and I sure did.
Albert has Bricen saying look daddy there's a hottie. So Saturday Albert and Bricen went to Sam's and on the way Bricen said, "daddy, mommy isn't a hottie" and Albert said, "you don't think your mommy is a hottie" and he said, "no her not have hottie clothes." So I am guessing all the hotties Albert is pointing out has daisy dukes and halter tops on.
We got to Bible School last night and Bricen was all upset because he had on blue jean shorts and a t-shirt. He said, "Mommy you forgot to put my church clothes on." He is funny about what he wears.

Bricen is potty trained!

I couldn't wait for Bricen to be potty trained but he was not ready until he had his mind set on doing it. I bought Mack the truck from Cars and put it up on top of the frigerator and we told him when he was potty trained he could get it. With Bricen going to preschool and my moms we waited until school was out so there wouldn't be so many people involved with trying to get him potty trained. So the first week he was out of school we started. Monday June 3 we started and it went great. It didn't take long and he had it down pat. He had about 2 accidents that week and I knew it was a great idea to wait. He had his mind set to do it and he did. So he got his Mack truck and he has been doing great ever since. I said potty training was the worst thing I had to get him to do and once he figured it out it didn't take but a few days. He wears big boy underwear all the time now. He doesn't even have accidents at night!

Insurance covered it!

We found out last week while we were on vacation that insurance was going to cover our stolen 4-wheeler. So we were happy with that news. Yes, it will probably make our insurance go up but it's better than being out that much money.
Here is a picture of the 4-wheelers we have for sale. The yellow one was mine and that was the one they stole. As Bricen says the bad people took it.

We had a great week at the beach. We did a lot of nothing! Albert had his 31st birthday on Tuesday while we were there.

Our July 4th weekend sure went out with a BANG!

Bricen and I went with my parents, grandparents and my great aunt to Boone on Thursday. My aunt, uncle and two cousins were already there. We got there for lunch on Thursday. Bricen took his nap and GeorgeAnna, Ellen and I went shopping. We got back later that afternoon. We had a great dinner for my grandparents 56th anniversary. We headed home on Friday morning. We had a great time!
We had supper at home on Friday the 4th and then Albert, Bricen, GeorgeAnna, Ellen and I went to Lake Wylie to see the fireworks. Albert was a fireman that night so we got a front row seat to the fireworks and it was great. We had a great time.
Saturday afternoon we went to PawPaw Neil's house (Amy's dad). Bricen is calling him PawPaw Neil now. We had a cookout and a waterslide for the kids. Bricen had a great time and he was wore out.
We woke up on Sunday morning and someone has stolen one of our 4-wheelers that we had chained up in our yard for sale. They have been there since the end of May and havent been touched and they took it out of our yard while we were sleeping. $6,800 gone and we will probably not see it again. Homeowners insurance won't cover it. If you want to learn a lesson from this check your policy and make sure it covers everything you need for it to. We are re-evaluating our policy and making changes and adding more insurance. We have a lot in our yard that isn't covered. If you want to know the truth insurance is crazy. It's ours and in our yard but won't cover it. We have been very upset and what upsets me the most we were home asleep.
Hope everyone had a great and safe 4th!

Blogging Anniversary!

I had my one year anniversary for blogging in June! I have blogged 93 times since last June. I love being able to blog about our family. I wish I could update it more often and I am making that a goal for the second year of blogging. Happy Blogging!

Bricen's Swim Lessons

Bricen has just finished his first swim lessons. He has done great and has learned a lot. We were really pleased with what he has learned. He was the youngest one in his class. The other 4 children had already taken swim lessons last year with Betsy. Today was parents day and we got to go in and watch. I have two videos that I am going to post. Bricen has not gotten on the diving board all week and he did today and he turned back and jumped off the side. Then with a little of daddys help he did it and we were so proud!

Happy Father's Day!

We have had a great Father's Day weekend! We went to Ebenezer Park in Rock Hill camping. We left Friday evening after work and headed right down the road to our destination. It was great not going far. We got there and set everything up. We camp in our enclosed trailer that we normally haul our 4-wheelers and Rhino in. Once we get where we are camping we roll the stuff out and we set up camp. It's a great set-up. We have heat and air and we have a lot of great stuff that makes camping great. (Cots, Microwave, Crock-pot, refridgerator, portable grill etc.)The only thing we don't have is a bathroom and I would love to have one of those so we don't have to use the bathhouse. Hopefully before long we will be able to upgrade and get a small toy camper or small RV that we can pull a trailer behind with our Rhino. I know you are thing whats the use in going camp if you have everything you have at home. Here it is..... FAMILY QUALITY TIME! I love it! We get to spend time together and relax all at the same time.
We went with some friends Derrick and April Gillespie and their two kids Champ and Chloe. The kids were great and for the most part we stayed around our campsite for the majority of the trip. Albert, Bricen and I had to go to a family reunion on Saturday for lunch so we left for a few hours.
There was a lot for the kids to do. Swim in the lake, they have a playground, we rode our Rhino and what they did the most you aren't going to believe. We took two monster trucks, 2 4-wheelers and 1 Ford truck with a trailer and they played with that the whole weekend along with some rocks and leaves. You would not believe how entertained they were. I think there was a conversation about how we needed to go home and clean out since they were so entertained with so little.
We had a very laid back relaxing weekend. Something about sitting around a campfire you get so relaxed.
We came home today and I got everything put up and we all took a shower in our nice clean bathroom and we all took a great nap. One of my favorite Sunday afternoon rituals.
I cooked Albert a nice Father's Day supper and we watched the movie RV. Bricen loved it. He thought it was as funny as Albert and I did. He is a great movie watcher. It doesn't have to be a cartoon for him to watch it.
As we were all on the couch Albert said, " I had a great Father's Day weekend spending time with my family away from all the hustle and bustle of everyday life."

I will post pictures of the cute plate that Bricen made for Albert for Father's Day! He also got a refrigerator for the 4-wheeler trailer and a shirt that is smaller than all the rest of his shirts. He lost a lot of weight and he hasn't gone shopping so everything is still so big. He has lost 2 sizes and he looks great. I wonder what he will get for his birthday? Um..... Clothes that fit? Well I think thats a great idea.

Happy Father's Day!

Clover High School Class of 98'

It's so hard to believe but it has been 10 years today that I graduated. We are having our 10 year class reunion Saturday October 11, 2008. We are planning it and I am really excited. Back to dieting!

I guess I will spend the rest of my life dieting but I am excited to know that one day I will be skinny again. There is hope that one day it won't matter how big I will be because GOD wont care. LOL I started yesterday and I am determined. Those are my famous words started a diet yesterday and I am determined. I am doing no carbs for a month and then adding them back in a new way. After this month is up I will be eating a lot healthier. Not as many carbs and better carbs like whole wheat breads. I know no carb diets are not good for the average person but I have IBS and carbs do not agree with my body and I have been praying really hard with my weight issue and I had a horrible weekend and I knew he was speaking to me through that so I would start my diet yesterday with no looking back. So I have faith that he is going to help me throught this and hopefully I can come out a winner! Please add me to your prayers that I can accomplish this. You know the prayer: Lord if I can't be skinny please make my friends fat. So if you are skinny and you want to stay that way pray that I will have will power and I can get this weight off.

BOY DOES THE TIME FLY!

IT'S BEEN A MONTH AND A DAY SINCE I LAST BLOGGED. WOW! THERE IS NO WAY I CAN POSSIBLY REMEMBER EVERYTHING THAT HAS HAPPENED IN THE LAST MONTH BUT I WILL TRY TO REMEMBER A LITTLE SO I CAN CAPTURE SOMETHING FOR THE MEMORIES.
WE HAD JOSH AND ALICIA'S WEDDING! WE HAD A GREAT TIME SETTING UP AND GETTING READY FOR THE WEDDING ON FRIDAY. THEN WE WENT TO SUPPER AT MARKET STREET AND THEN TO THE CHURCH FOR EVERYONE TO PRACTICE AND I WAS BUSY TAKING PICTURES. WE HAD THE WEDDING ON SATURDAY AND BRICEN STAYED WITH MY MOM SO WE DIDNT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT CHASING AFTER HIM SINCE I WAS TAKING PICTURES AND ALBERT WAS AN USHER. WE WENT TO NEIL'S FOR THE AFTER PARTY AND WE HAD A GREAT TIME! WE DANCED THE NIGHT AWAY. IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL WEDDING AND THEY SHOULD HAVE SOME GREAT PICTURES SINCE I WASN'T THE ONLY ONE TAKING PICTURES AND I TOOK AROUND 800 BETWEEN FRIDAY NIGHT AND SATURDAY.
MOTHER'S DAY WAS THE SECOND WEEKEND. I HAD TO WORK ON SATURDAY AT OUR SUBDIVISION LAUREN PINES THAT WE ARE TRYING TO PROMOTE AND MY BOYS TREATED ME TO DINNER AT THE LONG HORN AND MY PARENTS WENT WITH US TOO. THATS MY FAVORITE PLACE TO GO. I LOVE IT!
SUNDAY WE WENT TO CHURCH AND THEN TO MY MOMS FOR LUNCH. WE WENT HOME AND RESTED AND WE HAD OUR FAMILIES OVER AFTER SUPPER FOR ICE CREAM AND DESSERT. IT WAS A GREAT MOTHER'S DAY! IT WILL BE ONE I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER. BRICEN HAD A LITTLE ARRANGMENT OF FLOWERS FOR ME AT CHURCH THAT HE GAVE ME. SITTING AT THE BREAKFAST TABLE HE GAVE ME HIS PRESENT HE MADE FROM SCHOOL. IT WAS THE BEST PRESENT EVER. HE MADE ME A NECKLACE, AND HAD PLANTED ME A LITTLE FLOWER AT SCHOOL, HE HAD MY HANDPRINTS AND HIS HANDPRINTS THAT THEY HAD MADE AT SCHOOL WITH A CUTE MOTHER'S DAY SAYING AND THEY HAD HIM ANSWER QUESTIONS ABOUT HIS MOMMY AND THAT PIECE OF PINK PAPER WAS THE BEST!!!! IT WAS ADORABLE. HE ALSO GAVE ME SOME AZALEAS FOR THE YARD. ALBERT SAID WE WANTED TO GET YOU FLOWERS BUT THOUGHT THESE WOULD LAST A LOT LONGER. SUITED ME IT WASNT A WASTE OF MONEY. THEY ALSO GOT ME SOME OTHER FLOWERS FOR THE YARD AS WELL. ALBERT HAD TO MAKE SURE HE REMINDED ME THAT I GOT AN EXENSIVE GIFT FOR VALENTINES DAY THAT NEEDED TO CARRY OVER. IF YOU DONT REMEMBER IT WAS THE FLASH AND THE SMALL CAMERA BAG FOR MY CAMERA. I WAS TICKLED PINK WITH WHAT I GOT AND COULD HAVE CARED LESS IF THEY HADN'T BOUGHT ME A THING. HONESTLY WHAT BRICEN GAVE ME FROM WHAT HE MADE AT SCHOOL WAS THE BEST GIFT I HAD EVER GOTTEN! IT'S THE LITTLE THINGS THAT ARE SO MEANINGFUL. I HONESTLY CAN'T REMEMBER SOME OF THE THINGS I HAVE GOTTEN BUT I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER HOW MEANINGFUL THIS MOTHER'S DAY WAS NOW THAT HE HAS GOTTEN OLD ENOUGH TO UNDERSTAND WHAT IS GOING ON.
THE THIRD WEEKEND ALBERT AND I WENT TO GEORGIA FOR OUR ANNIVERSARY TRIP. WE GOT A NEW RHINO FOR OUR ANNIVERSARY AND WE LEFT BRICEN WITH MY PARENTS AND WE WENT CAMPING AND TO RIDE THE RHINO. WE LEFT ON FRIDAY AND CAME BACK ON SUNDAY. WE HAD A BLAST AND WE HAD A COUPLE OF FRIENDS COME JOIN US JUST FOR THE DAY ON SATURDAY AND THEY RODE THEIR 4-WHEELERS. IT WAS NICE TO GET AWAY SO WE HAD SOME ALONE TIME THAT WE GOT TO ENJOY WITH EACH OTHER WITHOUT BRICEN GETTING JEALOUS.
THIS PAST WEEKEND WAS MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND. WE WENT TO CHURCH AND THEN TO MY PARENTS FOR LUNCH FOR MY DAD'S BIRTHDAY. THAT AFTERNOON WE WENT TO OUR OLD HOUSE AND RODE 4-WHEELERS WITH OUR FRIENDS AND THE KIDS AND WE GRILLED HOTDOGS. WE HAD A CAMPFIRE AND ALBERT, BRICEN AND I CAMPED IN THE TRAILER THAT NIGHT. IT WAS BRICEN'S FIRST CAMPING EXPERIENCE AND HE REALLY ENJOYED IT. HE KEEPS ASKING IF WE CAN GO AGAIN. (WE ARE FOR FATHER'S DAY WEEKEND AND WE CAN'T WAIT!)WE GOT UP ON MONDAY MORNING AND HAD PANCAKES AND BACON AND THEN WE RODE THE RHINO FOR A LITTLE WHILE AND WE TOOK HIM OVER TO THE SCHOOL TO PLAY. WE PACKED UP AND HEADED HOME AROUND LUNCH TIME. IT WAS A GREAT RELAXING WEEKEND!
MONDAY WAS OUR 7TH ANNIVERSARY. TIMES REALLY GOES BY SO FAST. WE ENJOYED OUR DAY AT HOME AND WE WENT OVER TO THE GILLESPIES FOR SUPPER AND TO SWIM.
TODAY THURSDAY MAY 29TH- WE HAD BRICEN'S LAST DAY OF PRESCHOOL PROGRAM. ALBERT AND I WENT AND ATE LUNCH WITH HIM AND THEY GOT THEIR CERTIFICATES. IT WAS A LITTLE SAD FOR ME THAT THE YEAR WENT BY SO FAST. IT SEEMS LIKE THEY JUST STARTED YESTERDAY AND WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT HOW FAST IT GOES BY HE WILL BE STARTING KINDERGARTEN BEFORE YOU KNOW IT.
I WILL ADD PICTURES LATER ON FOR THE PAST MONTH. SO THIS ONE WAS A LONG ONE JUST TRYING TO CATCH UP!

Funny but NOT so Funny

This morning Bricen was at my moms and he wanted to go outside and my mom told him that he needed to wait just a little bit longer so it would be a little warmer. He looked straight at her and said you sorry jerk. My mom said excuse me what did you just call me he said a sorry jerk. He had no clue what he was saying. My mom asked him where he had heard that and he wouldnt answer. She said did you hear that from another little boy and he answered no little boy. When I got there she told me without me hearing him. She said no need to bring it up again. She had talked to him about it and he was upset that he said it when he knew it wasnt nice. So I know you are all thinking where did he hear it?? I honestly believe that he heard Albert the other night. A guy owes Albert some money and has for quite sometime and he can't get him to pay him the rest of the amount. So Albert called and got his voicmail and left him a message and when he hung up I think I remember Albert calling him that. It least it wasn't too bad. I can't wait to tell Albert when I talk with him. Albert left this morning with a big group going to West Virginia 4-wheeling and will be home on Sunday. Lord be with them! I am excited! It gives us a little time away. I think every marriage needs it. You get to see how much you miss each other when you are away for a couple of days.

Out of a mouth of a 3 year old!

I am behind but I wanted to post two things that Bricen said this week that was sweet and funny.

Yesterday my mom went to visit a lady in our church and they took her a pie for her birthday. Bricen loves to sing so he was singing Happy Birthday to her. He sang Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you- He stopped and held up two fingers and said you have two barns? He was looking out her window and saw them while singing. My mom said it was the funniest thing and they couldn't get him to finish singing once he saw the barns. He wanted to know where her tractor was and he wanted to talk about her farm and the birthday didn't matter anymore.

Then last night I was putting Bricen to bed and he gave me a big hug and he said I love you mommy, your my hero. I thought that was the sweetest thing. I don't know where he has picked that up but he melted my heart!

I love that kid. He is the sweetest thing. He has the best personality and he is very loving to everyone. Just out of the middle of know where he will just say mommy- I love you or daddy- I love you.

On a side note. I went with my mom to take Bricen and my two nephews to the park today. My nephews are 4 and almost 2 and Bricen just turned two. So they are great stepping stones. 4,3,2 well I wish you could have seen the people looking at us and there was two ladies that really thought I was crazy. They were looking and talking about us in another language so we couldnt understand but by the look on their faces they were wondering if I knew how to stop. My mom laughed she said yeah they know I am to old to have children this young. Just had to share because it was rather funny and to others they thought I had lost my mind. If they only knew Bricen is an only child and I hope soon that will change if I can get my husband talked into it!

I will be posting about Bricen's birthday soon!

3 Years Ago Today

I was pregnant with Bricen and I had a check up on Friday April 1 which was 3 years ago today. Dr. Peach was out of town and he was going to induce me on Tuesday April 5 once he got back in town if I had not gone on my own. Because I was on bedrest my mom took me to the Dr. and with my blood pressure being high I had to have fetal monitoring several times a week. Well I was at the Dr. office and I was hooked up to the fetal monitor and we could hear the babies heart beat but he wasn't moving. So they sent me in for an ultrasound. Well he wasn't moving on the ultrasound either. So I was informed that since I was so close to being due (April 10) that they were sending me to the hospital to be monitored and most likely induced. They were afraid that the baby was in fetal distress. So I called Albert while I was waiting for them to give me my paperwork to head over to the hospital. Well I couldn't get him on the phone so I called one of the guys (Wes) that working for Albert and got him. He let me speak to Albert and I told Albert what was going on and he was like ha ha Happy April Fool's Day! I couldn't get him to believe me. He thought I was playing around. Well after being worried that something could be wrong with the baby I was in tears. There was this sweet little lady sitting there in there in the hallway listening to me plead with my husband to believe me and she said honey do you need me to get on the phone and tell him your serious? My mom finally did. So I told him to head home and get my things that I had packed and I gave him a list of things that were just out that I had to use everyday so they weren't packed. Mom and I headed to the hospital for them to put me on a pitocin drip to make sure that the baby's heart rate was going to be ok and that he wasn't in fetal stress. If there had been any problems they were going to have to do a c-section. So I was checked into my room and was given a gown and then they started the iv of pitocin. While I was in the room with the nurse my mom was on the phone with my dad telling him to hurry. She was a nervous wreck. She was afraid something would happen and it was only she and I at the hospital. So before long we had lots of company. My dad, Albert finally got there, my brother and Albert's parents. Everything seemed to be fine with the pitocin so they induced me at 7:00 that evening. They came in and told everyone that it would be late the next day before the baby was born so we sent everyone home so we could rest and we didn't feel like we had to entertain and promised we would call if anything happened. At 10:00 PM they came in and gave me an Ambien. They wanted me to have a good nights rest and needless to say it really helped. The nurse was in my room at 11:20 PM checking my iv bags and I looked at her and said I have either wet the bed or my water has just broke. Sure enough it was my water. So we knew that he would be born within the next 24 hours. I was in real labor at that point knocked out with an Ambien. So I was sleeping good and everytime I would have a contraction I wouldn't say anything but I would lean up and grab hold of the bedrails and hold on until it was over with. Anyone who has had Pitocin knows the contractions are worse than just natural contractions. Thank goodness for epidurals and an ambien. At 2:30 AM they came in and gave me my epidural. I slept great until 7:00 the next morning. Albert on the other hand did not. Where my blood pressure had been high since I was three months pregnant. It bottomed out 3 times in the middle of the night and the nurses would come in and give me some medicine throught the iv to get it back up and everytime the baby would move the monitor would go off. I slept through all of that but Albert couldn't sleep. I should. have asked for him an ambien. They checked me at 7:00 and I was at 7 cm. My parents came around 10:30 AM and visted with us for about 15 minutes and they came in and checked me again and I was at 10 cm. So I got them to bring me my toothbrush and a cup of water and I brushed my teeth, combed my hair and put a little make-up on and I was ready to roll. The nurse came in at 11 and said lets practice pushing and she said stop right there I need to go grab the Dr. this baby is coming. So the nurse and the Dr. came running back in and I started pushing and I delievered a 6 lb. 14 oz. little BOY at 11:22 AM on Saturday April 2, 2005! We didn't find out what we were having because we wanted to be surprised. We named him Bricen Paul. Brice was my grandfathers name and is my dad and my brother's middle name. Paul was Albert's grandfathers name and is Albert's middle name. So we named him after both sides of the family. He was 20 1/4 inches long. Just thought I would share one of the happiest days of my life!

We had fun dressing up Bricen as a fireman. We took tons of pictures and these are just a few. We let him go outside and play with the hose and we got some great pictures. He thought he was a real fireman.
